Open Eco-Database (OED)

Help contributes to a paradigm shift in the digital practices for EIA projects. In a nutshell, it is an Open Spatial Data Platform, incorporated with distinguished and best practices capabilities, enabling effective display, dissemination as well as screening and scoping for studies or projects involving Environmental Assessment (EA) or preparation of Environmental Statement (ES). Built upon a robust open data system, OED utilizes data-driven smart analytics to enhance presentation, reporting and shortening of lead time required for the entire process.

Why OED ?

OED, in itself, is a packaged web/browser-based spatial platform, hence is readily deployable. It comes with pre-built data structure, tools and capabilities that can also be configured without any custom development.
As an open application, OED removes all licensing costs while offering enterprise-level robustness and capabilities through carefully curated and proven award-winning and on-time delivery to environmental agencies.
OED is built with proven data/system structure and architecture for environmental data processing, validation and smart analytics. Besides standalone operation, it can be scaled or integrated should it be desired.
OED allows complete control by users on data, account, look-and-feel by including an intuitive administration interfaces for data configuration and visualization without demand in IT literacy nor engagement of developers.

OED Key Features At-a-Glance

Data analysis function

The "Analysis" feature coupled with a power toolbar provides all the key capabilities, such as distance measurement, area calculation, spatial query, print etc., to help users conduct in-depth environmental analysis of project site.

Visual result presentation

Through web maps, sharelink or snapshot, data can be exported to common industry formats e.g. GeoJSON, allowing both portability and flexibility for inclusion of analyzed result to other tools, report or PPT presentation.

Geographic info visualization

By presenting various types of geographic data via an interactive map in an intuitive graphical way, it help users to quickly understand various spatial and environmental impact of different project options or schemes.

Essential map operation

Users is empowered to configure or define display symbology for required data layers, switching between different types of open map background to meet different viewing, analysis, annotation or reporting needs etc.
